Celebrating 20 years of Volunteering - Paula

Some milestones are extra special, and it’s such a privilege to celebrate one of those very special people who will forever be part of our story.

Paula was the very first volunteer to join the Caversham Wildlife Park family, making her place in our hearts truly unique. And 20 years later, she continues to hold a special place in the CWP family.

Back in October 2006, Paula and her husband, Andy, had recently emigrated to Australia. Wanting to immerse herself in something uniquely Australian, Paula decided to volunteer at a wildlife park! Little did she know that this decision would lead to a lifelong love of wombats, friendships that would span decades, and a connection with wildlife that would become a special part of her life.

We’ve had the absolute privilege of sharing this journey with Paula and Andy over the past two decades, watching their family grow and sharing wonderful moments along the way. What began as a new adventure in a new country has blossomed into 20 years of memories, friendship and an extraordinary gift of time.

Paula, you hold a very special place in the history of Caversham Wildlife Park. You were the first to say yes to volunteering with us, and in doing so, helped begin a story that so many others have since become part of.

Twenty years of giving your time and support is something we will never take for granted. We are so grateful that you chose us all those years ago, and even more grateful that you’re still here.

Congratulations on this wonderful milestone, Paula. Thank you for being our very first volunteer, for everything you’ve given, and for being such a treasured part of our CWP family. Here’s to the beautiful memories already made and all those still to come.
