Most of our animals have been born and raised in human care. The few that haven't have been orphaned or injured and brought to us to be cared for. Due to being reared in human care, they are familiar and comfortable with people and are cared for by highly trained keepers who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and love of the animals in a safe and educational environment.
As educational ambassadors, our animals represent their wild relatives, engage people and raise the profile of their in-situ relatives.
When we connect with an animal, we develop a deeper understanding and respect of the species; this can make a big impact on a person, allowing us to gain appreciation and become educated. Australia is facing an extinction crisis - we need educating!
At CWP, we are proud to connect you with Australian wildlife, to raise awareness of the plight of many Australian species, as we collectively work together to help fight extinction.
Without even knowing, our animals have the honorary important role of ambassadors for conservation on behalf of their wild relatives.
We see the value in conservation through education.
We aim to bring you close enough to see, hear, smell and sometimes touch our native Australian animals. We introduce you to a variety of animals, some well known, others you may never have heard of.
By getting you up close to them, we hope to bring awareness to the wide variety of animals that share our Australian environment, and spark your interest in the conservation of our wildlife.
Most of Australia's wildlife is found nowhere else in the world; it is up to us!
